Web Cam Radio Shows - Quality Affordable Sound, Lighting and Back Drop Equipment

A Little Internet Radio History

As professional Light Workers and Activists began to jump on the Blog Talk Radio circuit, the one truly important component for a great show was good content.  A phone or computer speaker was adequate for  universal sound setting.  Those that wanted to add more professional sound quality and explored the world of microphones, soon, like me,  accumulated huge balls of jumbled cords of generic and expensive microphones that did little to change the one man Universal Sound Audio Board effect.

Furstrated, in 2010 I left the wonderful and well marketed Blog Talk Radio to seek a smaller, less marketed private station, Achieve Radio, with it's own creative sound engineer.  Preemo sound was the king as long as the host was willing to buy a quality headset.  I love this station and though marketing my show is primarily my own responsibility, it's no different then self publishing a book with Balboa or any good Self Publisher.  I am seen where ever I want provided Im willing to make the marketing effort. This I do on Face book, Twitter and Hootsuite.

I AM THE ONLY SHOW ON AT THE TIME SLOT OF MY CHOICE

Unlike the well marketed Blog Talk Radio, at my smaller radio station I am the only show on at my chosen weekly time slot,  every week.  I no longer fight to be heard in competition with 1000 other hosts all with shows on at the same time as my show.  It was hard to keep listeners from hopping from one show to another.  Now that I have stayed with my Achieve Radio station they have advanced to Live You Tube TV, WHICH OPENS ANOTHER DOOR.....how to be current and relevant in the Video World. 

Wanting to share the best sound, lighting and back drop equipment I have found, as well as tips on how to use lighting effectively for small web cam video broadcast,  I've found a way to fit it into my life on a shoe string budget,  Here goes:

SEEK A COMPATIBLE GOOD QUALITY HEAD SET 

WHY?  Because your head set acts as a small recording room in which echo and outside noise can be eliminated.  It gives you a "full" well rounded professional voice, where using a computer speaker tends to echo and pick up every sound around you, and gives a tinny small voice, creating an unprofessional sound.   

For me, this Platonic Headset is affordable, can be hidden behind my head, {allowing good hair days} and gives me rich full sound with Skype.  I also use it for my Private Business when giving consultation.

Place the microphone near the edge of your mouth, never in front of your mouth, for best sound.  This illuminates harsh  "P" pops.   Be sure and use your Skype "Options" or "Tools" ....and click on "Audio" before your show.  You will be given a choice of whether to use your computer speakers.....or your head set.  Click on your head set.  Now test your sound. This allows you to see how you will be heard by others.  

 

 ILLIMINATE  SHADOWS IN YOUR FACE WITH FILL LIGHT.   HERE IS AN AFFORDABLE  CLIP ON HD FILL LIGHT FOR YOUR WEB CAM RADIO SHOW.

Position your fill light to the side of your computer, or from a table edge to the side, rather then in front of your face, which flattens the look of your facial features.

It is important when giving your web cam show not to sit so far away from your camera that you are a tiny head at the bottom of the screen with a huge wall behind you. {Wheres Waldo?}  Place your self in front of the camera, just as you see on TV, so that your head and shoulders fill the screen.  Be sure and use your Skype "Options" or "Tools" ....and click on "Video".  This allows you to see how you will be seen by others.

BACK DROPS

Depending on your Video Show theme, you may want a professional looking back drop.  Most stations, big and small, are in present time.  You can use  video block back drops in your show Intro with music, or in an add.  But while the show is being aired in present time, you may want a quality canvas or vinyl back drop.  I have two.  One is of a subdued woodland with trees, and the other is an antique brick wall.  Both back drops I purchased at Ebay under Photography Back drops.  You can pin them onto a Back Drop stand or your wall. ...where ever you choose.  There are thosands to choose from for cheap.

Loves What He Hates, Hates What he Loves

 

 

She came to me with an important decision; whether to stay with a man that has ballistic yelling rages or to leave with her young children.  He had stripped her self confidense away.  "Why does he rage at me all the time?" 

As I channeled within through the Tarot ink blot symbols before me I clearly saw her story.  "Well the biggest problem is that all the qualities that he found desirable in you, he now hates." I told her.

But now you are his and though he fancies himself a liberated man, in truth,  his intent is to brow beat and punish you for being exceptional.  He becomes joyful making you cry and cower. This is because you are truly all the things he is not, but wishes he were. The more insecure you become, the more a new problem arises.  He does not find an insecure woman beautiful, enticing or a challenge.  What he has created in you through his tyrades has become foreign to him and he punishes or abuses because you "have changed".  Thus he loves what he hates, and he hates what he loves."

"WHAT CAN I DO?" she asks.

"First of all this is your life and I can not and will not tell you what to do.  As a reader it is my job to tell you what I see."

"I understand" she says softly.

"You have two daughters." I continued.  "Remember that you are downloading your behaviour into them.  So if you stay with your husbands abuse, likely, your daughters will also live with abusive partners as they get older.  This is because you have taught them how to be comfortable with anxiety and that it's a normal way of life.  If this is NOT what you want, consider a furture seperation.  Prepare and pad your savings account for rent, deposits, and all else you will need.  Get back to work and saving with a purpose and plan.  No matter how much he explodes, you have the satisfaction knowing freedom is around the corner. No love is better then bad love.  AND REMEMBER! Train the people in your life how to treat you.

She thanked me and hung up with a strategy, which only her wise actions with guidance of God can make a reality.

When Animal Rescues Die * Tazer

 

 Like a slapstick comic he grinned and side stepped through our door with a senior dog puffy gut, bad teeth and a delightful personality.  "Funny thing happened to me the other day"  {You could almost hear the snare drum on cue}, BOOM.... "I need a walk.  LIKE NOW."  One year later I still hiked the ball park, crying and remembering how my last two dogs trotted together, completly in love  and how they died together, three months apart.  Were we ready for a Comedian to move in?

"Tazers" appearance into our lives followed a mini tornado that swept through a near by town.   "Annie" the voice on the other end of the phone said.  "We have a storm displacement dog out here in front of the convenience store.  He's real friendly but no one has a place for him.  Can you take him?" 

My husband, reading a Tom Clancy war novel on the couch, looked over and sent missles into my eyes.   "No Annie".  He knew right away the look I get when about to take on a new family member.   He had his heart set on a Schnauzer anyway.    I whispered in the phone, "Bring him tomorrow morning when my husband is asleep". 

"Can't Annie.  He needs a home now.  We'll bring him over."  And that was that.  I said nothing to Kevin and within 5 minutes a truck pulled up in front of the house with a Brittney Spaniel/ Pit Bull mix.  "He's here!" I shouted.  "WHAT?" Kevin yelled.  "I can't tell you anything damn it!"

The truck door creaked open, the sound of a leash and a dog bouncing out of the back was heard, and before us was a true blue hunting dog, robust, with brown sparkly eyes, a little stiff in the hind legs, but with enough energy for four dogs.  He seemed to be older, and had one canine tooth missing in front.  Immediately on seeing us he was ecstatic, until he saw the house full of rescue cats.  Immediatly he began to shiver fearfully and I was afraid he would have a seizure.   I am sure he was somebodies hunting dog, probably tied to a tree, terrorized by wild Felines.  The knots and bumps beneath his skin were more then age growths, this dog had seen battle.  And who knows what funnel plopped him in front of the smell of fresh baked donuts at the Convenience store in Early, Iowa?

We named him Tazer. His  similarity to a hyper talk show host was uncanny.  He spun circles, flirted and looked over his shoulder at us, tapped my computer for treats, won our hearts immediately, and before long my husband had found the dog that matched his work out manly man energy, as there was a ruggedness about Tazer that begged one to carry a rifle and start hunting.  Except Kevin and I save animals, never killed them.  Apologetically, to pacify Tazers great hunting needs, when he skillfully staked out prey, I made a gun shot sound effect with my mouth.  He thought it pretty weird, but eventually accepted this was about as good as it was going to get.  And in great panic I saved the game he stalked, screaming "NO TAZER NO!"  I am sure any red blooded red neck hunter would have been horrified.

Tazer grew to love cats, who loved him, and our little black rescue Cocker Spaniel had a bud again.  Like a happy family we drove together, walked together, laughed together, Tazer always the light of our eyes and filling the house with laughter and comedy.  Once again an Animal Angel had come into out lives, rescued our tomb quiet environment and exercised us daily.

JUST TWO YEARS AND HE IS GONE

 So today, 6:00am in the morning, our sparkly eyed, 100 mile an hour Brittney dog lies exhausted, unable to walk, in the back porch.  I sit beside him, cross legged, as thunder rolls outside.  We are watching the world through the screen door.  One toothache and he is slipping from us fast, as he is too old for surgery , "He might die" the Dr's say...but now he dies anyway as the poison flows all through his body.  I kick myself wondering why I did not force an operation.  Tazer sleeps, looks tired and worried.  He knows he is dying and his huge strength refuses to let go.  Its not his way.  We have hauled his heavy body up and down the stairs to go to the bathroom, watch him walk a few steps then collapse.  We sit with him until he is ready.

I know that Tazer, like each of our displacement animals, are angels.  The test is, when a loss like this happens, will we wallow in self pity and say "I'm not ready yet," or bring another animal into our life that needs our love.  The cats surround us now, purring next to Tazers emaciated body.  He is grateful it seems.  We have made up our mind to make this day the day we relieve him of his fight and pain, and between 9:30 and 10:00am we lie on the floor beside him, crying.  He slips in and out of painful consciousness.

We drive to the vet at 10:00, Kevin is at the drivers wheel, and I lie in the back of the jeep with Tazer.  He has no more fight.  At this point he is beginning to have spasms in his back legs.  Kevin parks in front of the vets office and carries his 90 pound Brittney like a baby in his arms protectivly.  We lay a blanket on the metal table, to give him a sense of home.  The Dr gives Tazer a relaxer first, shuts the door so that we can be with our buddy as he gratefully, can rest.  We both stroke his beautiful brown and white speckled fur and see clearly he is comfortable.  We are asked to leave the room before they give Tazer the second shot, but know he will pass immediately.  Five minutes later we are told we can coe back in to see Tazer, who lies peacefully.  We have asked to have Tazer cremanated so that his ashes can be buried with our other beloved pets passed on, at home, around a 12 foot maple tree carved into a ring of wolves.

Quietly we drive home, and Kevin disappears to take a last walk around the foot ball field in memory of our beloved Tazer.  I light a white candle, in his honor, and wait for the flame to burn out in its own time, when Tazer finds Rainbow Bridge.

Mascara, Screams and Mirrors

 

It wasn't that it was so strange to see my sister get up three times during a lunch out, to run to the bathroom and check her image, but that as her nervous break down progressed she became convinced she didn't really exist with out validation from a mirror.   Sure I was guilty too.  As a recent "Whole Living" magazine article pointed out, I was as guilty as the next person of making a special mirror face that sunk my cheeks in just a little more, plumped my lips into a sensual pout and morphed my eye lids to look more exotic.  Time to time when I had an extreme emotion I checked the mirror to see if what I was feeling was validated. And of course, pictures were always "bad" as they never showed the lady I saw in the mirror.

MIRROR GAZING AND VANITY.  OR IS IT?

During my sister's nervous breakdown she seemed to at first go into an Alice in Wonderland world, where her reflected image  was always a friend on the "other side" there waiting for her no matter what. But soon she was screaming in pain at the insult  her mirror image displayed as the wear and tear of her emotional crisis grew deeper.  When the mirror she so trusted to be predictable, began to show her pale sleepless anxiety and  unpredictable  weight changes, it was as if she became the daughter of a cold dominating figure that never had a good word to say about her. Like an abused child, she kept reaching for the mirror to see if it had changed her mind about her.  But of course, she was confronting the punisher within, herself, her own worst enemy.

SHE SAW THE ENEMY WITHIN

I began to see that my sisters stays in the bathroom became longer and longer.  Like the evil queen of Snow White, the mirror never had a good thing to say about her and there was never enough mascara, high lighter and hair product to take away the ugly she felt inside.  Instead of staying away from mirrors, she obsessively checked to see if the enemy reflection, lurked within the mirror.  She searched like a mother for a lost child, for her old self, the pretty girl.  And though she was a beautiful girl, and ogled by every guy around,  she found all validation of her self worth through the mirror. 

 

I am happy to say that my sister after years of counseling has healed and her psychosis and addiction to mirrors has mellowed.  Now, together, you may find us in a department store making our silly mirror faces and laughing  at  each other hilariously.  The mirror is my sisters friend again.  But like any addiction she knows her boundaries.

 

 

Mothers Day with Meno Pause

 

 

When I was in my 30’s I asked a sweating woman having hot flashes next to me at work what it was like having Meno Pause.  She looked at me, smiled, and said “You know I am a gentle person right?  I would never hurt anyone.  Last week in the store I wanted to kill a woman for standing in front of the celery.”  I remember looking at her in shock and disbelief.

 

And then my Meno Pause came, years later.  I remember the day well.  My son had forgotten me on Mothers Day.  Usually a gentle soul, I watched the clock tick by later and later, with out a call or flowers at the door.  Suddenly, all the pent in anger and resentments of my life surfaced  at one time.   I could bear no more!    

 

I dialed his number and screamed “Damn It!  Don’t you think I have feelings?  How could you forget me on Mothers Day?!

Aghast in bed next to his wife, I could hear my sleepy son become 2 years old.  “Mom!  Oh God!  I am so sorry!   It completely slipped my mind.  Mom?.......

{at this point I slammed down the phone}  I began to sweat profusely, the menopause demon slipping away, hearing the words of my dear work companion echo “ You know I wanted to kill her for standing in front of the celery.”

 

The great part is that my son has never forgotten me on Mother’s Day since.  It’s too bad I waited so long to take my “Bitch Pill”.   It’s wonderful being a Prairie Crone wise woman.

 

Repeat Lover..3 strikes he's out!

 

 Jason left “for good” just like three other times.  He said he would be back for his stuff on the weekend.  He didn’t.  Four weeks later a pair of his dirty underwear was still on the floor and three of his shirts were folded on top of Erika's dresser.  Worse, he still had the key to her apartment.  At any given moment he could walk right in.  Or would he?   It was a daily hell trying to figure him out.  Ericka cried a lot and wrapped his  shirts around her to feel his presence.

 

 

TEXT MESSAGES

 

 

Jasen left a lot of text messages for Ericka. 

“Be back when I have time to think.”  

“Do you love me?” Ericka would text back..

“You know how I feel” he quickly messaged back.

 

 

Somehow Ericka always felt worse after these messages.  This was old stuff.  Why did she owe him time to think?   One day she shoved all his belongings in a black garbage bag and tossed them in the hall way….

 

 

TEXT MESSAGE  "I Want My Key Back"

  

 

“Come and get your stuff.  It’s in the hall.”

“WHAT?” he texted back.

“I want my key back.”

“You know I love you.” He messaged back.

“YOU CALL THIS LOVE?”                                                        

“Lets talk.  Be there at 6:30” he text promised back. 

 

 

HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOCK

 

 

Jasen  didn’t come at the time he said he would.  Ericka cried herself to sleep.

That night Jasen unlocked the door with the key he still had, and slipped into bed.

She knew it was unfair.  He had waited until she was too tired to confront him.

The next day the black garbage bag was sitting in the living room.

Jasen had come back to stay but for how long?

 

 

NO TRUST

 

 

Each time the “Come Back Kid” syndrome happened Erika trusted Jasen less..

She feared he had slept around while he was gone.  What disease did he come back with?

The name of the game began to be “Who owed who more?”  Did Erika owe him quiet acceptance to make him feel comfortable? {He might leave again.}

Did Jasen owe Ericka shopping sprees and dinner out for leaving and making her cry?

They were locked in a pattern they could not get out of.

 

 

ERICKA'S PSYCHIC READING

 

 

Ericka was stressed.  She felt like screaming when ever she went to work.

One day she called a Psychic.  She was hoping for good news to make her feel better.

 

 

PSYCHIC: What is your first name please? 

 

"Ericka"

PSYCHIC:  "Your best coarse of action is to separate for 2 months on your own terms."

 

"HE ALWAYS TAKES THE KEY AND LEAVES HIS STUFF."

 

PSYCHIC:  "The advice seen and felt Ericka is to make a date for him to leave on your own terms.   Stick to your guns. Give him a date, say goodbye.  If he leaves in a rush take his belongings to a friend..   Change the locks on your doors if he takes the key. 

  

"WHAT IF HE DOES NOT COME BACK?"

 

PSYCHIC:  "This is your life and you must do what you want.  Ericka, is it being good to your Angles to hurt and cry?  Is this the love you want to claim for the rest of your life?  Be strong.   You will be proud you did.  If in 2 months this man has not changed his attitude move on.  Draw a circle around 2 months from now.  That is enough time for him to understand you demand respect."

 

"I WILL TRY"

 

PSYCHIC:  Ericka?    There is another man seen for you in 2012.   There is seen a wonderful person who will cherish and love you.  The future is changeable with your wise actions."

CONCLUSION

 

In many ways Ericka felt the Psychic confirmed what she already knew.   The odd part is she had only given names.  She had not been asked for any details.  Better yet, Ericka felt lighter.  It was not a friend or relative offering advice or insisting she listen to them.     Ericka had gone to the Psychic on her own accord and her privacy was sacred.

Obcession - Why Did He Back Off?

He was OBCESSED about you..why did he back off?

He calls every day, or sees you any chance he can get.   Suddenly his obcession stops.  At first he doesn't communicate but a few days.  You tell yourself this is no problem.  So you hang on a month.   In that 4 weeks he has dwindled to 2 calls.   Then it just all stops.  Why?

Maybe you have known him long or only a short time but he constantly begs you to have his child.  He says things would be different in his life if you had his baby.  You have your doubts but get pregnant anyway.  He runs.  In the mean time you find out there is a long line of women who also have his children, after you also got pregnant.  Maybe you sent love letters every day while he was in prison or the military service, promicing a secure home when he got out.  Either way, your pregnant {by his request} and now he's gone. Why did he back off?

HE WANTED A MOMMY TO NURCHURE HIM ..SUDDENLY YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AND HE DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR THEM.

The feeling of freedom I have on my sky blue bicycle, not bent way over my bars, but the same way I would sit in a cushy chair, gives me abundant choice to live my life exactly as I wish irrelevant of how cool my bicycle is. It is a classic "Wizard of Oz" wonder, and with a basket on the front bars it is perfect for a home based psychic worker like myself.

Being an Indigo child was not an enlightening experience for me. It disrupted my learning ability, as like a child Sigmund Freud, I was "reading...reading....reading"; reading the teacher before me, reading the children around me, and even reading the dog tied to a house post on the way home. The only way I can explain this unwanted blessing, is if you can imagine a fan running all the time and hearing that extra layer of white noise with out relief. At the age of 19, in a French gift shop, I found a beautiful deck of cards called "Tarot" and HERE is where I learned I actually had a gift. Better yet, I allowed myself to turn my gift on and off, with the simple action of putting the Tarot Cards back in their box and closing the lid. For the first time in my life, now that I understood what this extra "energy layer" was, I learned to block it at will.

 

Tarot....Great "Additional Dimension Disorder" Medicine

Tarot was not just a set of cards to me, they were "good meds" for a crippling inability to turn off my psychic gift, which I call "Additional Dimension Disorder." Please know I do not live in a dream world and am totally realistic about this. The card symbols perk my intuitive over-drive, and allow more focus. My subconscious relates to my conscious mind what it is seeing in the symbols of the cards. I open my mouth, and let the information flow forth to my national and international clients. MY ANGEL GARDENS

I live in a tiny red neck town, and in honor of my angels, I have purchased four lots of land where I create meditation sanctuary gardens, fairy gardens, butterfly gardens and pathways. They are always a work in progress. Large cement statues are placed in Feng Shui energy directions, so not to look cluttered. Maybe best of all is my neighbors seem to accept me as a good hearted eccentric. Children and animals are drawn to me like a magnet, which means I seldom get to garden alone. Often little girls fascinated with my gardens insist on raking, gathering sticks, or stopping for a small chat. Amongst us all, the cats circle between our legs, purring.

SO WHATS WITH ANGELS?

Here is what I believe about Angels. Each of us is a living walking temple of flesh and bone. We are in continuous dialogue with our Angels and the Universe. But they can only do so much for us. We are the ministers at the podium of our brain and heart. In the end, the consequences of our choices will be reflected through our eyes, our environment, our health and the great mystery waiting for us at the end. And no one says its easy, but like gardens, we're each a work in progress.

MY HUSBAND

Who would marry a woman like me? The answer may surprise you. He is a die hard Republican who worships Rush Limbaugh. And yes, he would rather I stop creating gardens so he can mow mindlessly free. As an anal attentive soul who thrives on historical books on World War One and Two, my husband and I agree not to agree, talk to our many animals, drink lots of coffee together and read. Our comfortable silence is impactful to our marriage in a positive way. I don't try to change him, and he does not try to change me. My husband bends his conservative rules when it comes to car mechanics, which is when he gets psychic readings on car dysfunction such as "is it this part...or this part?" I probably should have an add in the paper, "Annie O'Dell: Psychic Mechanic Readings" in which a photo of me is displayed wearing a monkey suit with a wrench in my hand, a gypsy scarf on my head.

THE MISSOURI SENATE CHURCH

When my 91 yr old neighbor saw my first 300 pound angel fly in suspended from a Boom Truck, and gently set into a four tier garden across the lane from her living room window, amends had to be made. She insisted I try her church, the Missouri Senate Lutherans. As the angel garden filled with pastel flowers and tulips, wind flowers and Bleeding Heart, she learned to love the angel. BUT a promise is a promise and I had said I would go to the Missouri Senate Church in town. As time went on and I attended the church I even made some lovely but distant friends. Often I noticed that I sat alone in a peau, or at church events people distanced from me. It came to the simple reality we shared nothing in common. Folks had no idea how to talk to me, and most of all I believe worried if in laughing or bonding with me others would think they were joining my life style.

MY SKY BLUE BIKE & the PIT BULL

Increasingly people were distancing from me at the Missouri Senate Church, and it was at the point I was feeling like an outcast. Many liked me, but it was my questionable image and the fear that they did not want their friends to see them with me, that made me realize we had all been a lot better off when I did not come at all. On a beautiful summer day I coasted my sky blue bike into the parking lot, to the church door, where a Pit Bull sat growling. I got off my bike, ready to speak softly in an nonthreatening manner so I could enter inside the church. The closer I got, the more the Pit Bull growled and stared threateningly at me, growling before the large front double wood doors. I realized a heavier message was being given to me. I looked past the dog to the symbolic reality.

I saw in my minds eye a room full of God fearing Missouri Senate avoiding me. I saw the contradiction of "Thou shalt not judge" and saw my own transgression in trying to force feed an established church with my essence. I climbed onto my sky blue bike, thanked the dog, sailed home and fetched my coffee, to walk in the serenity of my loving angel gardens. http://sisterspsychicwindow.piczo.com
